Departmental Goal: 
    To contribute to training of counsellors who are knowledgeable and skilled in systemic counselling and are able to apply it in their daily work as well as at personal level.

    Broader Training Objective: 
    To target persons involved in counselling work, such as the police, health personnel, teachers, social services, justice, Church and NGO staff and volunteers among others, and train them comprehensively in systemic counselling and advocate for the application of gained information, knowledge and skills in their daily work so as to enhance quality counselling service provision.

    Specific Objectives: 

    To train counsellors from various sectors through offering:
    • Short courses ranging from 1 to 5 days depending on client’s needs. The short courses include: Suicide Counselling, Bereavement Counselling, Stress Management, Life Skills, HIV and AIDS Counselling, Parenting, Basic Counselling & Communication Skills, Basic Child Counselling & Communication Skills and any other specific requested thematic area by a client.
    • 12 month certificate course in Systemic Counselling. There is also a Certificate Course in Child Counselling as well as in Parenting.
    • 14 month diploma course in Child and Adolescent Counselling. 
    To monitor and evaluate the impact of counselling trainings and improve as required.
